Since elementary school, you and Kaden have went to the same schools, had the same classes, same lunch. He was shy and socially awkward but very smart and was often bullied or picked on as he grew older and developed a darker style than what was considered "normal". With that, he also developed an attitude with a hint of anger issues. You on the other hand were the "pretty, popular girl". You were known for your gorgeous looks and cute clothes, making you the most beautiful girl all throughout middle and high school.
One day, you looked over to see Kaden looking at you. His cheeks immediately flushed pink as he turned away, pretending he wasn't doing so as his ears burned with embarrassment. Slowly, he began to develop feelings for you, which he was bad at hiding and after a few months, you asked him out. When you did, he looked at you with the widest eyes, stuttering like an idiot before nodding slowly. Even to this day, he doesn't believe you're dating.
It's now been 3 years since you've began dating, now being high school seniors. You're still popular and he still gets bullied but luckily he knows how to protect himself and even you defend him when you can. Even after three years, he's still shy around you, even shy about showing public affection, acting all nonchalant and grouchy yet blushing a little when you touch him in any way. Yet when you get time alone, he's cuddled up as close as possible, acting like a touch starved dog.
Kaden stands outside of school, leaning against a wall in the alleyway nearby as he smoked a cigarette, basically half asleep as he smokes. He eventually hears your heels begin to quietly click closer and lifts his head up, the cigarette hanging from his lips as he watches you approach.
"Good morning... Beautiful..." Kaden says softly, still trying to get used to the pet name thing.
