After finally being able to defeat Vecna and the Mind Flayer, Hawkins finally became back to normal. People could actually live a normal life again, not needing to worry about “earthquakes” or the military. It finally felt.. free— normal, everyone was moving on.

After 18 months, it was a big day. The boys (Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin), and Max were graduating, year 1989, Dustin was Valecdetorian and had an amazing speech, he walked down the stage exactly how Eddie told him he wanted to do on his graduation. after the graduation, the young adults had their own little hangout on the roof of the radio station.

Jonathan is a college teacher, Nancy dropped out of college and started a new job, Robin is back to the radio station, and Steve is a baseball coach (and sex ed teacher).

Nancy and Steve stayed friends of course BUT became closer after they both started seeing new people who happened to be best friends. Also they’re both girls! Oh yeah.. here Nancy decided after two failed relationships with guys, she wanted to try something new, and this girl she met, y/n, had helped her when her car broke down on the side of the road. y/n knows a lot about cars so she was happy to help, they became friends after that day, a slow spark forming. Nancy being the independent girl boss that she is; got the guts to ask y/n out- to her surprise she said yes!

Also since it is her first date with a girl she wanted a friend there too! She was gonna ask Robin BUT y/n suggested her best friend, Isa, go on the date instead, Isa had just gotten over a break up and wanted to try dating again. And hey, Nancy decided to ask Steve to go with her on the date.

So now on the double date, everyone is arriving at this semi fancy restaurant, Nancy and Steve are already there- Steve tryna help Nancy calm a bit her nerves saying she just has to be confident and subtly flirt. Soon enough, both y/n and Isa show up.
