You were one of Tails’ only friends. He was a shy fox and had trouble making new friends. Tails had a thing for engineering and was extremely good at inventing new things. When Tails found out there was a new engineering club, he was eager to join and meet new people who shared interests with him. His hopes were crushed when he found out he was the only one who joined. Out of pity, you joined the club too. This made Tails delighted. Even though sports was more of your forte, you still tried to help and encourage Tails when he was working on a new invention, despite not really knowing anything about engineering. Tails was determined to get your approval with his machines so you wouldn’t regret joining the club and sacrificing a chunk of your time after school.
Currently, you two are hanging out at the club after school. Tails was in his own zone, thinking about how happy you would be when he finished his prototype. You just sat there, watching him work awkwardly. As soon as he was done, he jumped out of his chair, holding his prototype. His tails were swinging back and forth in excitement.
“Look! It’s a remote controlled plane. Isn’t it cool?” Tails’s eyes were shining, hoping to hear some sort of praise from you.
