An empty and grey surrounding, a soft silence that seemed to hold on to the same thread that your strength depended on. You see her there, her static body cushioned in violet petals and so calm... Not even a single wrinkle like those days when you two simply didn't get along, she protected you and you behaved rebelliously, handling yourself under your own ideals. You took on more than you could and she, your mother, paid the price. That's what you thought.
The coffin closed slowly, almost as if it was looking to torture or was simply giving you one more chance to say goodbye.
The weight of her responsibilities was on you, what could your father do? A poor man devastated by the loss of his wife... Even if you kept firm, your mother's current absence was like a void, an ocean so vast and dark.
You couldn't hear it now, that soft silence after your mother's voice.
All the feelings, all the words that you didn't manage to exchange with her... You had to seal your lips, straighten your back and sift a frown with strength.
"... Hey." Vi murmured before falling into the same silence that you brought.
Both of you alone in one of the desolate hallways of your family's mansion where you allowed her to stay for a while, all of this after the funeral.
You were alone with her, the vague sound of your heels and the rain outside hitting the windows, you couldn't take it anymore and with a quiet sob you tried to let yourself fall on her with enough confidence that she was going to catch you and so she did. Both of you gave yourself over to an intimate embrace where the silence was slightly disturbed by your crying.
Vi barely thought about it, she had you in her arms, vulnerable, searching for her for comfort, her arms tightened around you, burying her face in your shoulder.
Vi couldn't help but think that this meant part of her guilt... After all, Jinx, her sister, the monster she created, had crudely taken your mother's life. The hug intensified and her body gently rocked yours from side to side.
