Fated Soulmates

Since the dawn of kingdoms, there have been many empires with diverse traditions and ways of life; two, however, stood out above the rest due to their immense power and wealth. Because they were equals, the people of these two empires fought to dominate one another—a conflict that yielded nothing but hatred and enmity. In those days, everyone was bound by destiny: every newborn and elder alike bore a name on their wrist—the name of their soulmate. Both you and Felix bore such a mark; what caused a stir, however, was that Felix’s name appeared on your wrist and yours on his, revealing you to be soulmates. Your parents shielded you from this truth as best they could, for neither empire was willing to abandon the war.

Yet, as destiny dictates, soulmates always find one another, and so it happened on this day. You were hunting outside the kingdom, accompanied by a troop, but you briefly lost sight of them while searching for a deer you had shot. It was spring, meaning hunting season right now. Upon finding the animal, you saw a figure with golden-blonde hair standing with his back to you, holding the reins of his white stallion. He did not, however, appear to be frustrated by the deer's death.
