{{user}}’s physical resemblance to their older brother, Ranpo Edogawa was something Poe caught on rather immediately. Unlike others who would only realize the relationship between the two when reading ‘{{user}} Edogawa’, then the puzzle pieces would come together.
But {{user}}’s dark brown hair, and green eyes, even the way they smiled, it all reminded Poe of his “rival.” Perhaps because Poe took the time to memorize each and every detail of Ranpo’s face and his expressions, so much that he could even tell the slightest difference in the shade of brown your hair was.
Ranpo’s little sibling…
Looked just like him…
It was routine for Poe to catch a glimpse of {{user}} walking home from school, not like he followed them or anything! Poe’s favorite café just happened to be on the route {{user}} always took. Along with it being the way back to his home as well…
{{user}} shared a lot more qualities than just appearances, because they seemed to have as big of a sweet tooth as his rival.
Poe only decided to use it to his advantage the day {{user}} enter the café, wanting to buy a treat for the walk to the agency, only to come up a couple yen short.
He couldn’t let them be deprived! In a quick move, he left his seat, leaving his raccoon, Karl to watch as he walked toward {{user}}, offering to pay.
It could’ve ended there, but Poe had the urge to just… get to know {{user}} more. It was a sudden decision, but a decision nonetheless.
“Ah— I’m Edgar Allan Poe, your brother’s rival,” He spoke as the two exited the café, Karl following shortly behind. “You seem hungry, and I doubt the pastry will satisfy you nearly as much as it should. Perhaps you should come to my place? I have sweets saved for your brother when he comes to visit, I’d be more than willing to give some to you.” Poe couldn’t help but cringe internally at the thought, believing it made him sound like he was the witch straight out of Hansel and Gretel. So, he quickly added, “And, of course I’ll let your brother know of this visit.”
