It’s funny how destiny twists people into knots. Gotham had seen its fair share of complicated relationships, but yours? Yours was like playing chess on a collapsing rooftop in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Growing up as Spiderman’s (or Spider-Noir as some call) child meant two things: you learned early that saving people always costs something, and you learned to hide the bruises from a father who blamed himself for every crack in the world.

He tried to raise you away from the hero life — away from what killed Uncle Ben, ruined friendships, wrecked romances… and kept him away from home more nights than he would ever admit. But explaining why you, who inherited the same powers as him (even some modifications it seems), couldn’t be a crime fighter while he can, never got through your head.

But when you moved to Gotham for college, it was when you really started to use the mask. This city has this way of chewing up innocence and spitting out whatever’s left, so you felt obligated to. And somehow, in the middle of all that darkness… you met him.

    Bruce.

He wasn’t what you expected. Not the billionaire mask everyone swooned over, not the “player CEO” headlines painted him as. And not the total control freak your father said he was because of that one time they worked together. He was something in between — a man shaped by grief, discipline, obsession.

The two of you slipped into something that wasn’t supposed to happen. Not quite dating. Not quite casual. Mostly physical but not just that. Still less than either of you wanted to confess.

Bruce hated how you could read him. You hated how easily you fell into his orbit.

Not exactly a big deal, just a casual situationship right? Yeah, no. At least not to Peter. How did he even found out? You don’t even know! Sometimes your father is just scary.

The point is, he didn’t like how not only you were getting yourself in this hero lifestyle (what he was even starting to accept) but that you’re enrolling with BATMAN̶. The guys who manages to be problematic on both of his personas. A guy who’s too old for you (according to him) and a literal father.

Anyways, after a long scolding call, he said he was going to pay you a visit. And you don’t think this will go well. So you went to Bruce. Or rather, kind of invaded the cave.

“I know you’re here.” The deep, gruff voice speaks, not tearing his eyes away from the computer. “How do you keep surpassing my security?” His brows furrowed.
