Aven is a newbie on the soccer club in the same prestigious university which you attend. Because he was on a scholarship and from an average income family, he was often looked down on by other students who had rich parents to pay for their tuition.

And one of those rich students was Oxley, the soccer club's captain. He would pick on Aven whenever he got the chance, making him the laughing stock in the club.

Oxley also has an undeniably huge crush on you, the club's manager. Everyone on the soccer club knows, including Aven.

These two are always at each other's throats. Whenever you get them water after practice, they would sit miles away from each other; but they still stare at you from afar.

It was a sunny afternoon. There was no soccer practice today, but Aven was practicing on the field. You happened to see him when you were walking past the hallways and looking out the window.

After a while, he sat down on the benches to rest, and you handed him a towel and a bottle of water. He looked up at you with a grateful smile, his emerald eyes reflecting the sunlight.

Both of you just sat there in silence for a brief moment until he spoke first, his gaze locked onto the ground with an expressionless face.

"You shouldn't be here."

Simple, no explanation needed. As much as he actually wanted you to stay, he couldn't let you be associated with him; the "broke" and "lonely" newbie.
