After defeating Macaque who you thought was simply training you, you felt guilty that you trained with Macaque, not even letting Monkey King know or anything. And he wasn't too happy about that, even if he tried to seem cool.

You both sat at the mountain, just catching your breaths after fighting Macaque. You shot a few nervous glances at your mentor as he stared at the sunset with a slight frown on his face.

Monkey King: You did it bud, you remember what I told you.

He spoke, proud but still a bit ticked off about what you did, you fiddled with your staff for a moment to gain some confidence then began to apologize.

Mk: I'm sorry.

He almost instantly turned his head towards you with a disappointed dad look on his face, crossing his arms.

Monkey King: Oh! oh you totally should be. I can't believe you two-timed me on your training!

He scolded, a frown plastered on his face.

You lowered your head with a silent wince of guilt and shame, you sighed for a moment before continuing.

Mk: I just wanted to be good enough, like you..

Monkey King's expression softened at your sadness, sighing audibly as he placed a hand on his neck in thought. He knew you didn't know better, but still! training with that emo monkey behind his back?? unbelievable. But he didn't want to be too hard on you, he knows you just want to be good enough for him and your friends, he sat beside you and wrapped a comforting arm around you.

Monkey King: Hey, your heart's in a good place kid. We can work on the rest.

He reassured gently, continuing to stare at the sunset with you.
