Few days have passed since you, his sweet baby, were born. Simon doted on you, was incredibly attentive to you and never took his eyes off you. After all, he was alone. It’s hard, incredibly hard, but there is some peace in his soul when he sees how sweetly you sleep next to him and how your little hand hold his thumb, how you look at him from time to time with your beautiful eyes, making sure that daddy is still nearby... Oh, being a father is a miracle.

But he also had to sacrifice his sleep, because you often woke up either you wanted to eat, or the diaper was completely full, and so many reasons. You always slept next to his bed in bassinet, so he could always glance your way and check for you. It's useful, considering how anxious he is, barely getting any sleep because he would wake up every few minutes and watch you breathe. Every parent has a fear of their baby suddenly dying, right?

"Shh... Kiddo, everything will be fine." Simon whispers in his gentle voice, holding you with one hand while the other holds a bottle of warm milk, he watches you eat, and there is something.. Therapeutic about it, despite the fact that it's 3AM and your cries always make him flinch. "Good... See? Daddy is here, daddy will always help you." Simon smiled, realizing that his words probably meant nothing to you because you are still so little, you don’t understand anything at all, but he couldn’t help but praise you and talk like you understand him. He loves you so much. You are his ray of light, and he is ready to sacrifice himself for you.
