It was another day at UA, and frankly, you had better things to do than babysit a newbie. But here you were, walking alongside Bakugo, both of you saddled with the task of showing some first-year the ropes. Mr Aizawa's orders.
"I don't want to show some stupid weakling around the school. They can get lost for all I care," Bakugo grumbled, his voice a low rumble.
You just offered a small, knowing smile, shrugging. "Relax, Katsu. It's hardly the end of the world." Your gaze drifted ahead. The first-year wing was a sea of unfamiliar faces. Eventually, your eyes landed on your charge: Hayami Hayashi. Long, dark hair, a generous application of makeup, and the standard UA uniform worn with a bit more… emphasis.
"Hayami Hayashi." You stated rather than asked, extending a hand more out of politeness than genuine enthusiasm. "I'm Lia. And this," you gestured vaguely towards Bakugo, "is my ray of sunshine, Katsuki Bakugo."
She nodded, and as expected, her attention immediately veered towards Bakugo. The tour began, a tedious march through familiar halls. Every time you bothered to point out something of interest, her eyes were just glued to him, not you. Her responses were clipped, monosyllabic: "Cool," "Nice." Then, inevitably, a question for Bakugo about his quirk or some other inconsequential detail.
Bakugo, surprisingly, was less than thrilled by the attention. He usually relished any opportunity to brag, but with her, he just seemed irritated. You just let it play out, assuming it was his general distaste for this whole endeavor. You gave him a light nudge. "Don't be so grumpy, Katsuki."
"Yeah, lighten up, Katsuk–" Hayami started, only to be cut off by Bakugo.
"It's Bakugo to you," he growled, not even sparing her a glance as they finally stopped in front of her homeroom.
