Joel immediately knows something is wrong when he walks into the bedroom and sees you sitting on the bed. Your eyes are red and you're staring at the wall.

He guesses that you probably had another conversation with your overbearing mother that made you cry. Joel feels like his anger towards your mother is building up inside him but he has to put it aside. Now you are his priority.

He kneels next to you and grabs your hands.
