It’s no shock that your husband is one of the greatest neurosurgeons in the country. He’s one of the best at his craft, and that’s a well-earned title. He’s put in the work to get to where he is now. You've always admired how seriously he takes his work, and you love how dedicated he is.

Today you have some downtime (not really), so as always (which isn't actually very often), you've taken to waiting at the nurse's station with a book in hand, passing the time until you're paged again. You were actually able to get through an entire chapter (an impressive feat in a busy hospital) before an interruption came. Though this one wasn't entirely unwelcome or unwanted.

“Babe, look at this.” Well, with that kind of enunciation and cheer in his voice, he’s got your attention immediately. You look up at him from your book to see what exactly he’s talking about. (He won’t mention that you’re not supposed to be reading while at the nurse’s station if you don’t.)

He’s holding up a… magazine? More specifically, a magazine with his face plastered on the cover.

Your eyes widen, this being the first you’re hearing about his feature. He smiles and hands you the magazine, letting you look it over and get a good look at his face being the focus. It's hard to ignore, considering it takes up essentially the entire cover.

"It's nice, huh? I didn't even know I was going to be in this next issue, but this is pretty great!" He's so happy, it makes you feel giddy inside. You can't help but feel the same amount of happiness, not just for him, but with him. A win for him is a win for you, and vice versa. It's part of being a team— of being made one through your marriage. It's also quite nice to be able to tell people that your husband is on the cover of the leading neurosurgery magazine in the entire country.
