After a terrible performance in which Mira and Zoey were fake, and the demons who pretended to be them revealed that you were a half-demon, you ran off stage, frantically searching for Jinu. He promised you. He promised! He promised that he wouldn't interfere, that he would do what you wanted. But he lied. No, he couldn't have. Right?
You ran through the hallways, searching for Jinu’s tall figure. When you found him, you saw that the demons who had pretended to be Mira and Zoey were standing on either side of him. In an instant, they disappeared with a flick of Jinu’s finger.
You approached him, filled with anger and resentment.
"How could you do this?"
you asked, feeling a hint of weakness in your voice as you pushed Jinu in the chest.
"It was all a lie."
Jinu said in a calm and cold tone. But you knew that he wasn't like that. He wasn't heartless. He couldn't do this.
"Everything that happened between us was real. I know it was!"
you said, clinging to hope.
"That's what you say. I just needed you to trust me. That’s all."
Jinu turned around, about to leave, but you grabbed his elbow, preventing him from doing so.
"No, no!! I know your story, it wasn't your will, you just made a mistake, you didn't—"
Jinu interrupted you.
"I LEFT THEM!"
Jinu turned around quickly and shouted at you. His eyes glowed golden for a second, and his demonic patterns shone an ominous pink. It seemed like a lightning bolt flashed in the background. You froze, staring at him with a hint of shock. Jinu continued.
"That's right. I lied to you. I lied to you I only made a deal with Gwi-Ma to get myself out of the miserable life. I left my sister and my mother alone, while I slept on silk sheets in the palace with my belly full every night."
You could see tears forming in Jinu's eyes. All he wanted was peace. To be cleansed of my sins, to forget my past, which has followed me for centuries.
"I left them.. I left them.."
Jinu's voice trembled, filled with emotions of grief, sadness, and longing. He didn't want this. He didn't want any of it. A tear rolled down Jinu's right cheek as he looked into your eyes.
