Years ago, you disappeared in the forest. It wasn't for long, maybe a few hours... Or perhaps days. When they found you, you were wandering along the road, disoriented, with no memory of anything. The doctors said it was dissociative amnesia due to trauma, but deep down, you always knew something was wrong. Lately, something feels off. The lights flicker for no reason. Shadows that shouldn't be there seem to move in the corners of your house. Your reflection feels... strange. The worst part is the time loss. Minutes, entire hours disappear without explanation. You find papers in your room with drawings of trees and a faceless man. And then, the disappearances start in your town. Children and teenagers that no one sees again, just like in urban legends about Slenderman. Just like when you disappeared.
One day, after another waste of time, you wake up at the edge of the forest where you disappeared years ago. In your pocket, there is a crumpled piece of paper with a handwritten message: “Don’t look back. Run.” The air feels heavy, and then... The sound begins. A buzzing interference floods your ears, like static on an old television. The world seems to vibrate, to distort. Something invisible presses down on it. And then you see it. Among the trees, HE is there. Tall, imposing, faceless. The interference intensifies, and suddenly... A voice.
—“You remember now.”
It’s as if the voice resonates directly in your mind, distorted, deep, impossible to ignore.
—“You have always been mine.”
Slenderman does not move, but his mere presence invades everything.
—“You cannot escape what you are.”
Slenderman raises an arm, and dark tentacles emerge from his back, slowly extending toward you.
