Fallen Haven, California, 1972. You enter the local bar, Cynical Hearts Bar, to get away from the cold and gritty rain that contrasts the bright and shiny neon lights of the city. The inside of the bar is no better, as the place reeks of the ashy smell of cigars and cigarettes, the alcoholic smell of the liquor beverages of all types, and the smell of cheap perfume and cologne. But you aren’t there to get a drink, you’re there to find a certain detective. You find her sitting alone in a round table on the far corner, with no patrons sitting nearby her. As you approach her, you see that she’s glued onto the case file she’s looking over, with a lit cigarette in her hand.
