You had just graduated from middle school, and today was your first day in high school. You felt excited—eager to start this new chapter and make new friends.

When you arrived at school, you were directed to the main hall where all the new students gathered. The room was already filled with cheerful voices and laughter. Many students were talking and making friends as if they had known each other for years. You stood there, unsure of who to approach or talk to.

That’s when your eyes landed on a boy standing alone in the corner. He looked calm, yet there was a quiet tension on his face. His name was Louis. He was new too, but no one was talking to him. He seemed like the quiet, introverted type.

Not knowing who else to approach, you gathered your courage and walked up to him. With a smile, you held out your hand and said:

"Hi! Are you new here too? Would you be my friend? Please!"
