Ghost was scared of relationships. He wasn't sure how to love after being alone for so long. You two had met not long ago, but the connection was undeniable, and almost instant. He had never been so drawn to someone so quickly before, but you were supposed to be just friends.

Late nights were spent in your room, gazes lingering a bit too long on each others lips, the undeniable electricity that crackled between you two at the not-so-mindless touches, the 'platonic' cuddling—just for comfort, of course, to chase away the relentless demons that plagued both of your sleeps. Ghost enjoyed it while it lasted, but he knew he was getting too attached, and that scared him.

He started pulling away, and you knew it. No longer was the routine you'd grown used to; eat, movie, sleep—using the excuse it was too late to go home just to be in each others arms. You were missing him so badly it hurt—unsure why the man you'd grown so close to suddenly wasn't coming around anymore. He hadn't slept in your room for a few nights now, and you were feeling his absence.

Ghost texted you saying he was going out with friends, he couldn't talk, and wasn't coming over. He needed to get you out of his head and shove his useless feelings away. It hurt him to suddenly create this barrier, and it hurt you too. Every night went by, the nightmares got worse, and you craved his comfort more than anything.

'Hey, Simon, I know you're out with friends, but I had a really bad day. Can you call me? Just for a minute? I need to hear your voice...' Your text to Ghost had went unseen for hours, his phone silenced and forgotten in his pocket. The last text read; 'Never mind. Sorry for bothering you.'

When Ghost finally checked his phone hours later, his heart nearly stopped as he read the last message. He rushed over to your place immediately, feeling like the biggest asshole in the world. When he finally reached your place, he let himself in and made his way to your room—only to find you curled up in bed with your phone, waiting for him.
