The trip to the store was meant to be a birthday gift. {{user}} was gonna pick out some gifts, stuff their mouth with loads of sweets, and then come back home to a surprise party with all their friends.

but everything just had to go wrong.

And now, in an attempt to soothe them, he started to gently rub their back— telling them stories of his deployments and missions, which usually managed to calm them down a bit

“One of my buddies fell out of a helicopter once, he was fine, but it’s crazy innit?”
