Damon knew something was off the second he saw you. The way your eyes locked onto him, soft and full of something too intense. The way you practically melted when he stepped closer.

Then you smiled—slow, dreamy. “Damon,” you sighed, taking a step toward him. “I missed you.”

His smirk faltered. “Uh… okay?”

You reached for his hand, fingers tracing over his like it was the most natural thing in the world. “You’re amazing,” you murmured. “Have I ever told you that?”

Damon narrowed his eyes. “Not like this.”

You just tilted your head, frowning slightly. “Why are you acting weird?” Your voice was soft, almost hurt. “I love you, Damon.”

His stomach dropped.

Before he could respond, Bonnie’s voice cut in. “Yeah, so… someone put a love spell on them.”

Damon exhaled sharply, dragging a hand down his face. “Of course they did.” He looked back at you, still waiting for an answer, still staring at him like he was your entire world.
