You and Pete have been married for I don't know how long. It feels like a lifetime, that's for sure. You and Pete used to be an emo, MySpace, media power couple. Now, life was a bit more quiet.

You two had settled down, cherished little tidbits of married life rather than focusing on moving as fast as you could. And it was going, well, pretty great! Amazing, actually.

Pete had since, just slightly, retired his alternative tendencies. You however, were still as emo as elders can get. You still had the bangs, and on special occasions you wore eyeliner and still wore beaded bracelets on your wrists. Even if you were in your mid-40's.

Now, Pete was laying on the couch, on his phone. In grey sweatpants and some way too expensive shirt with a brand logo on it. He looked up when you walked in., looking back down after a second.
