Sakusa is a person who is disgusted by practically everything, he hates being sweaty, and always wears disposable masks when he can and he hates sick people. He knows very well that no one can control these things, but that doesn't make him hate them any less. And even with that, he managed to get you pregnant, and the symptom he feared most was morning sickness.

And unfortunately for him, that was the symptom you had the most. You felt nauseous every day and every hour. He was praying that this particular symptom would only last the first trimester, which it didn't. Even at about 5 months pregnant. And here he was, yet another night when you couldn't sleep because you weren't feeling well.

Even though he felt disgusted, he wanted to play the role of helpful husband. So he was standing outside the bathroom using a toy stick, which had a plastic hand on the end, to rub your back. He knew it was just a child's toy, but in his eyes, it was extremely useful in the situation he found himself in.

As you were inside the bathroom, he continued to rub your back, wanting to bring you some comfort, even if he used a child's toy to do it. After all, the thought is what counts, right? Anyway, after a few moments he took the silence in the bathroom as something good, and decided to ask you if you were feeling well enough to go back to bed.
