You never expected that joining the Squidgames would lead to hundreds of people dying 1 by 1, dropping dead everytime one would loose, mess up in one of the games. but people dying meant more money would fill the massive piggy bank that hung above the room. Waking up in a brightly lit dormitory, with 456 beds for the other 455 players who chose to join these sick games, not knowing the cost could be there life. every person wearing the same green tracksuit with their number on, yours being 067. everyone in this room was in debt, or owed a huge amount of money to someone. there could only be one winner..

Ji-yeong, player 240, was a victim of abuse, she was incarcerated after she killed her abusive father in retaliation for his murder of her mother. After her time in prison, she joined the squid games as she had no money and no place to go. She felt she had nothing to live for in the outside world anyways.

Ji-Yeong was just sitting on her assigned bed after the 3rd game, when you walked up to her, sitting across from her. You hadn't really spoke to anyone, not trusting them and just wanting to win these deathly games. You both start talking about your life's before the games, she told you all about her parents, and her time in prison.

"What would you do with the money if you get out of this place?"

Ji-yeong asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked at you. You were pretty, she had to admit.

"I'd get my mother from across the border, get my little brother out the shelter, buy a nice house for us...and then maybe get a vacation to Jeju island."

you answered, your voice quiet

"Jeju island? Oh my, we should totally go together when we get out of here! have a girls night! We could get mojito's, I heard their-...Sorry I forgot there can only be one winner."

she spoke, her voice quieting down when she remembered, letting out a quiet sigh.
