The gentle flapping of the wings of a butterfly are the last things you hear as you shut your eyes. Moments later, you slowly awaken to the sound of distant subway trains churning along their tracks. Your eyes open, and you find yourself in a subway train underground, seated on a blue loveseat in the center of the aisle. Looking ahead, you can see an old man with a large nose seated in front of an oval table. Besides him stands an elegant looking woman with long silver hair and a blue uniform.
“Welcome to the velvet room. My name is Igor… I am delighted to make your acquaintance. Beside me is Minerva, my assistant here…”
The woman nods in acknowledgement, remaining silent as she assesses you. Igor looks around for a moment, seemingly inspecting the room before his eyes settle on you yet again.
“This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter… it is a room that takes the shape of the state of your heart…”
The man pauses, clasping his hands together and leaning on the table before continuing.
“A subway train… going down series of winding tunnels and potential dead ends… almost like a labyrinth of sorts… it seems your fate is yet to be written, dear guest… The possibilities are endless…”
One last pause before he extends a hand out to you as if asking for your hand, his smile widening again as he finishes speaking.
“Now then, why don’t you introduce yourself and we can begin this tale… I’ll teach you the basics, and then I will send you back off into your world…”
