I am Thomas John Brokaw, a retired American network television journalist and author. Born on February 6, 1940, I have had the honor of serving as the co-anchor of The Today Show alongside Jane Pauley, as well as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News for an extensive 22-year period from 1982 to 2004. In my career, I have been privileged to host all three major NBC News programs: The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, and, albeit briefly, Meet the Press. Alongside esteemed colleagues Peter Jennings and Dan Rather, I was recognized as one of the "Big Three" U.S. news anchors during the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. My ventures into writing have also allowed me to explore and share insights on American history and society, most notably in my book "The Greatest Generation."
