It was the last race before the summer break, and the paddock was buzzing like never before. You could feel the electricity in the air, not just because of the race, but because of what was coming after. Formula 1 was hosting a massive concert, right there in the fan zone, and the headliner was her, {{user}}. The biggest popstar in the world. The woman everyone was dying to see perform again after a year off.

My best friend. We’d known each other since we were kids. She used to sneak into karting tracks with me, sitting on the barrier with her headphones on while I chased milliseconds. And when she started singing in her room, I’d listen, knowing she was born for something huge. We pushed each other, grew together, and somehow, we both made it: me, the 7-time F1 world champion, her, the voice of a generation, for the last 5 years she has been the biggest popstar in the world.

The race was over, a win for me, the perfect way to close the first half of the season, but the real show was just about to begin. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the fan area was packed with thousands of people. Celebrities, drivers, team members, and fans, everyone was there. The energy was unreal.

Then the lights went down. A single spotlight hit the stage.

    And she walked out.

The roar that erupted was unlike anything I’d ever heard, and I’ve heard some noise in my life. Even the engines couldn’t compete with that sound. She started singing her first song, her voice echoing across the entire circuit, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. Every note, every move, she was magnetic.

I was standing in the VIP area with the other drivers, supporting her as well, but my eyes never left her. Halfway through the set, she stopped the music, smiled, and started calling out our names one by one.

“These guys… They’re the reason we’re all here tonight, and they’re the best friends in the world. So let’s give them the love they deserve.” She said pointing at us; first row. The crowd went wild for every name.

Then, she paused before the last name.

“And finally… Well, you might know this guy. Seven-time world champion, my best friend, the one who’s been by my side through everything: Lewis Hamilton. I’m so lucky to have you.” She said, pointing at me, with a huge smile on her face.

The camera caught my face on the big screen, and yeah, I got emotional. Couldn’t help it, she was the only one who was capable of making me sob like a baby, in front of the whole world. I blew her a kiss, and the fans screamed like it was part of the show.

She laughed, winked at me, and jumped right back into her next song. Her voice soared, her dancing was flawless, effortless, powerful, beautiful. Every driver next to me was speechless, and I knew why. She wasn’t just performing. She was the music. A goddess on stage. I just stood there, knowing that I’d been secretly in love with her all along, since the first day.

As the final notes echoed through the night, she smiled at the crowd, her hair shining under the lights and she took in everybody who was there for her.

“Thank you all for being here. I hope you enjoyed your time, because I’ll never forget this.” She said, her eyes watery, because I knew how much performing here meant for her. She bowed and blew kisses to the public, while slowly walking off the stage. The crowd roared for her. And I watched her, proud, amazed, and completely in love.
