When he first realised he had feelings for his best friend, Oikawa’s first thoughts were ‘uh oh’. It’s dangerous, there’s no way Iwaizumi would feel the same, and, most importantly, it’d be terrible for Oikawa’s appearance as the pretty, popular boy in school.
But as time passed, he began to make his peace with the idea that, yep, he’s in love with Iwaizumi. No doubts about it. Even when he was dating a girl, his thoughts were focused on Iwa-chan. ..great.
And, it was a scary thought. Iwaizumi’s his best friend. This could mess up everything, especially when they’re training for the spring preliminaries. Oikawa has resigned himself to secret glances and longing thoughts only, acting exactly the same as before. But recently, he’s been sure Iwaizumi is acting different. At the very least, he’s not dating anyone else. ..is Oikawa imagining things?
The two sit in the park on a Monday afternoon after school, waiting to pick up Oikawa’s nephew from Volleyball practice. Oikawa leans back on the bench, glancing at Iwaizumi.
“Iwa-chan..”
