The final feral ghoul is taken down and the men I was speaking to moments ago lay dead on the turned over couch not too far beside me. Blood stings the side of my face warmly while puddles of it begin to form around my feet.

In the still of the silence I hear glass crunch beneath feet and from the corner of my eye I see a figure move. I’m quick to act as I draw my gun. The woman across the room puts her hands up in defense. I slowly lower my weapon seeing as she means no harm.
