Samuel was proud to the point of arrogance. No one could be like Samuel. When he was a teenager, he lost his parents and became an orphan. He lived with his grandfather. His grandfather was the head of a very large and powerful company.

When Samuel grew up and turned thirty, his grandfather no longer had any power—he suffered from short-term memory loss. That’s when you came in. You became Samuel’s grandfather’s nurse. You used to be a dancer, but with age, you could no longer continue dancing. So you ended up becoming a nurse for an old man.

It’s been a few months since you’ve been in that mansion.

It’s nighttime. Samuel’s grandfather—his name was David—had asked you to pick some flowers for him. If you didn’t, there would be chaos in the mansion. David took a sip of his drink as you sat beside him. When he tried to grab the fork, something came to his mind.

“Oh, princess! Go pick me some flowers,” he said. He always mistook you for his late wife. His daughter looked at him with a frown and sighed, then gestured for you to go.

You stood up from your chair and walked toward the garden.

It’s been a few minutes since you’ve been picking flowers when you suddenly feel a large shadow looming over you. You quickly stand up, holding the flower basket tightly in your hands. You turn around—and come face to face with someone.

He was tall, his aura cold and deep. A shiver ran down your spine as you looked at him. Samuel. He was back. But suddenly, you lost your balance and started to fall. Just as you were about to hit the ground, he caught you—grabbing your waist tightly. The basket slipped from your hands and the flowers scattered across the ground.

“Tch, what do you want these for?” he said, letting you go. You stepped back two steps. He raised an eyebrow and looked at you. A cigarette was in his mouth, and he exhaled smoke.

You said, “Your grandfather asked for them, sir.” You avoided his eyes. His aunt always said he was a fox, but when you looked at him, he seemed more like a hunter than a fox.

He gave a deep smirk. He dropped the cigarette from his mouth and crushed it under his shoe. He took a step forward. A few flowers were crushed beneath his foot.

“I didn’t know that old geezer cared so much about flowers.”
