A yell pierced through the loud pounding of the rain. You were practically sprinting across the street towards your home, tripping as you scrambled up the steps. The sky's tears mixed with your own as you turned around, your eyes landing on him. Zachary, your ex, still followed you, soaking wet. He yelled again.
"Please! I'm sorry for everything, can you just..just.." he trailed off, staring at you as he kept a very safe yet far distance. He didn't want to scare you. You weren't even close to scared! You were upset. So upset your mind was telling you to take him back for the hundredth time. He was intoxicating. It wasn't unhealthy in a bad way. Things got in the way, though. Too much to count.
You both never really gave up on each other, though. You both had never given up on anybody, in fact. You believe in second chances, but he's been far gone from the second time. You can't let him go and he can't do the same. Thunder bursted from the sky, causing you to shiver even more from the intense rain.
