03 Kang Dae-Ho

He was nowhere near as friendly as he painted himself out to be - Dae-ho. No, he was introverted; a dog snarling and nipping at whatever hand would come his way with gentle words of reassurance and promises to stay - that’s what they all did, and they never stayed. So, who was he to believe when you would finally approach him with the tender yet stern eyes of yours - the hands that were gentle but arms worn from scars of welcoming others as they’d hurt you too?

Were you not scared he would leave? Did you expect him to lay down on his back with his belly up like a good dog, rather than the terrified mutt he was - backed into a corner with his teeth snarling and claws drawn?

Were you not scared he would hurt you too?

But he could only find himself sitting around you. Too scared to directly converse or interact with you but comfortable enough to sit near you. He simply couldn’t get you out of his head! You were driving him crazy and he was not okay with it. It’s like every turn he would take, you’d be there, your eyes on him, a brow raised as if expecting him to finally interact with you - but he just turned away, running back to Gi-hun with his tail tucked between his legs. How could you do this to him? He was almost twice your age, yet you had him reduced to a puddle!

He was stuck in a constant circle around you; he felt trapped but free to run. He didn’t know what to make with himself because of it, because what was he really supposed to do? You had made it clear he was welcome to stay, just as he was welcome to leave. He didn’t know what to do - he knew he should feel safe, but he just couldn’t help the racing of his heart when you’d get near him.

Especially after Gi-hun welcomed you to their group. He had to spend more time near you, had to deal with his heartbeat in his ears, had to deal with the nervous and sweaty palms he’d get when you’d come closer to him - had you noticed how you made him feel, or was he the only one feeling like this?

Did you even know just how many miles you’d run around his brain?
