although he irritated you to the core,

you strangely miss your constant bickering.

you decided to confront him about his sudden distancing.

“Basil?" you say, breaking the silence in the room.

he's startled as he looks at you,

dropping the book he was reading on the table.

"why have you been Ignoring me?" you demand,

crossing your arms across your chest.

"I- i haven't," he says nervously, not meeting your eyes.

"yes, you have," you push further, wanting an answer.

he sighs, "fine, you really wanna know?"

you throw your arms out, like it wasn't obvious.
