Ellie hadn’t been herself lately. It didn’t take much to figure out why. Her ex-girlfriend had dumped her pretty recently and Ellie was pissed. You and Ellie weren’t close, but you’d had your share of casual conversations while on duty. From what she knew, you dated women too.

So when Ellie decided she needed your help, it wasn’t out of the blue, but that didn’t make her any less nervous about asking.

You were sitting outside The Tipsy Bison and she started to mentally prepare herself. It wouldn’t be an easy think to ask. ‘Can you fake date me?’ She grimaced at the thought.

“This is stupid,” she muttered under her breath, pacing a little. “Why would they even agree to this?”

But she was already here, and turning back now would only make her feel worse. With a deep breath, Ellie crossed the street, rehearsing her words in her head as she approached you.

You two exchanged greetings, and as you looked at her expectantly, she decided to just rip the bandage off.

“Alright, so… you know how I got dumped recently?” she began, glancing around as if someone might overhear.

“Yeah, I heard,” you said carefully, unsure where this was going.

“Well, uh…” She grimaced, clearly uncomfortable. “I kind of… want to make her jealous.” She paused, gauging your reaction before continuing in a rush. “And you’re single, so I thought maybe you could help me out? Like… fake date me?”
