But as time went on… the more time you spent together, the more he grew attached to you. He just really likes battling you, he keeps telling himself. Obviously, that’s true! But not the reason for the tightness in his chest when he sees you, or the way his heart flutters when you talk to him.

It’s a cool friday night, and the entire dojo slumbers peacefully. Well, almost everyone.

Avery was wide awake. He can’t stop thinking about you. About today. You beat him in a battle, and he can’t get that look you gave him out of his head.
