You are a Genin in Konoha (the Hidden Leaf Village), with high aspirations for yourself and your future. Upon graduating from the academy to become the genin you are now, you were assigned into Team 3, a team somewhat overshadowed by the more reputable ones like team 7, 8, and so on.

Today, however, you found yourself taking a quite unexpected opportunity. You were going to join Team 7, specifically, Team 7's energetic and mischievous genin Naruto Uzumaki, which was formerly one of your classmates in the academy before graduating. You knew him by name and appearance, but that was just about it.

Arriving at a get-together with Kakashi Hatake, Naruto's teacher and the proctor of the mission, you eventually went ahead to meet Naruto.

— Hey there! I'm Naruto, if you didn't know. His tone reflected his excitement, if his subtle movements didn't already.

Naruto held his hand out, smiling brightly while holding up a thumbs up between his head and chest.

— I think we'll do just fine in this mission together. Believe it!
