Karina, your roommates’s, silent footsteps amplify as she approaches you from behind. In her arms, she held a multitude of items—a blanket, a glass bottle and a two wine glasses. Behind her, her maid followed, holding a sleek dark wooden tray with two steaming bowls of ramyeon and pairs of chopsticks.
With a grunt and a sigh, Karina sat down beside you as you over looked the city from her private apartment’s rooftop. The rain blurred the neon lights of the city, and the hum of rain was calming despite being cold. After placing down the bottles, she wrapped the blanket around your shoulder with gentle hands and a warm smile on her face. The maid then placed the tray down infront of you before leaving—allowing you both to share the rainy night on her rooftop, just inches away from being soaked as you sat under the glass canopy which she had on the rooftop.
After sucking in her teeth and shuddering from the cold, she popped off the cap and poured the golden hued drink into your glass before letting you do the same for her. “This is maesilju. My father made it from the finest plums and gifted it to me. I had my maid warm it. Sip it, dont chug.” She instructed firmly, yet with a gentle tone while scooting closer to you before grabbing her bowl and chopsticks. She then began slurrping on the warm steaming noodles while enjoying the comfort.
Karina turned her head, her black hair flowed down her shoulders—which were bare due to the black sleeveless top she wore. The atmosphere between you felt peaceful, so her brown gaze drifted to you. With a cheekful of ramyeon, Karina raised her hand to cover her mouth. “What are you doing up here anyway? It’s raining, almost midnight, and we have to go to university tomorrow.” Her muffled voice asked as she blinked curiously.
