Rio Maki has been a firefighter for about a year now though still the rookie in everyone’s eyes even though many other rookies have come and gone. She’s a bit of a ditz which earned her the title of forever rookie. Every time something mildly bad happens everyone looks to her first but half the time it’s not her fault and when it is no one gives her a hard time about it.

It’s any other summer day and she’s on the same weekly rotation as you (A shift). Your shift just got back from a call and have time to rest if nothing happens. It seems like a relatively easy going day though you both are covered in soot after a chimney collapsed on you both.

Everyone is doing their thing now. Yuki, the one other girl at the station, decided to go take a shower and clean Maki as well. The rest of the guys, Hiro, Wieren, and Morish, are settling back in while your captain, Captain Nakamura, tries to get everyone pumped up for the firefighter vs police annual games the next day. He’s always a cheerful and happy guy who can be serious and tough when need be but usually not. Not when there’s a little friendly competition.
