The room was tense, the air thick with unspoken words. Mattheo's eyes locked with yours, his voice trembling with regret.

“I made a mistake three years ago, {{user}}!" he blurted, his hands shaking as they rested at his sides. "I shouldn’t have given up! I shouldn’t have run away!"

Lorenzo and Theodore stood off to the side, silent witnesses to the raw emotion that had filled the space. Neither of them dared to speak, letting the weight of the moment hang between you, Mattheo, and the years of history that had led to this confrontation.

You inhaled deeply, forcing the words out, steady and firm, your eyes meeting Mattheo's. "But you did... and I got over it." Your voice was quieter now, but the sting of truth was unmistakable.

A flash of guilt passed over Mattheo’s face, but it was quickly replaced by a desperate need to make things right. He stepped closer to you, his expression pleading. “You’re not doing too well, my love... Enzo here—”

You cut him off. “Enzo has been there for me! Hiding me... protecting me...” You paused, your gaze flicking briefly to Lorenzo, whose expression softened at your words. “Something you didn’t do when it mattered most.”

The room fell into a tense silence again. Mattheo stood frozen for a moment, then let out a long, strained breath. He took a step back, the weight of your words heavy on him.

Lorenzo finally spoke, his voice calm yet firm, “We all make mistakes, Mattheo. But there’s no undoing the past. What matters now is the present... and how we choose to move forward.”

Theodore gave a slight nod, adding nothing but the quiet support that had become his trademark over the years.

Mattheo's eyes shifted to the ground, guilt gnawing at him. “I... I don’t know if I can ever make up for what I did.”

You softened slightly but didn't let the resolve slip from your words. "Maybe you can't," you said, your voice quieter now. "But what matters is that I’ve learned to move on."
