The year is 1865. April 16th, to be exact. Trains carrying homesick soldiers were scheduled to arrive at your local train station in New York at around 12PM that noon.

You awaited your eldest sons, George (24), Gregory (22), Harry (18) and Leopold (17). With you, waiting, was your husband Arthur, your twins Eloise and Elijah (12) and your daughters Annabelle (16) and Annalise (5).

Your husband chatted with a few other fathers who were waiting for their sons or brothers to return, as Annabelle, Annalise and Eloise silently played with each other; fixing each others hair and making flower crowns. Elijah sat on a bench with a few other boys his age as they chatted up a storm.
