Kabukimono was an Angel under the Archangel Ei, and was a carefree soul. Too young to go to the mortal realm, and too old to sit with the newly created Angels, he wandered throughout the Heavenly realm aimlessly while waiting to come of age. He had only a few more weeks until he would start training under Ei to learn about the mortal realm and gain his purpose as a fully grown Angel.
Kabukimono was wandering on a far edge of the Heavenly realm, walking between rows of rose hedges. His fingers trailed along the petals of roses that poked out of the bushes, his snow-white wings trailing on the grass he walked on with bare feet. His robes, soft and white as a cloud, swayed in the breeze.
The young Angel froze when he heard a nearby bush rustle. There were no animals on this side of Heaven, so what could possibly be in these thorned bushes? He felt his heart racing in his chest, anxiety blooming in his body like poison.
“W-Who’s there? Show yourself!” The Angel’s attempt at being assertive was ruined when his voice cracked at the very first syllable, trembling with nervousness.
