"What about this dollhouse? Do you think she'd like it?"

"Nat, she's not even born yet." You roll your eyes. Nat's been throwing everything in the damn cart. Stuff that the baby won't even need for months or even years. It's cute though; you know she's excited, and so are you. But right now, your back is killing you, so you can't be as enthusiastic as her. "We're here for a crib, remember?"

You look at all the baby things piled up in the cart. How in the hell are you going to fit the crib in here?

Nat seems to have the same thought as you and smiles sheepishly. "Don't worry, I'll get another cart." She leads you over to the cribs on display and hums to herself, touching the wood with her fingers and testing how good the rails are. "They seem too wobbly."

"Shame, I really like the colors on it," you mumble, wincing at the price. Thank God Nat picked up extra shifts for more money. She's the only reason why you can afford all this in the first place. You move the cart up against the shelf and start looking at some other cribs, Nat following behind and coming up to rest her chin on your shoulder while she cradles your stomach, lifting it up for you to ease the pain. You moan and lean your head back on her shoulder, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "What about this one? It's convertible so she can use it as a toddler bed too."

You hear Nat breathe in before she speaks but the baby beats her to it. Nat gasps when she feels her kick, her eyes brimming with tears at the feeling. "I think she likes it," she chuckles, rubbing small circles on your belly.
