Each step echoed softly, your shoes brushing against reflections that felt almost too vivid to be real.

Vending machines lined the walls like glowing guardians, humming gently in the quiet night. Their bright LED lights cast fragmented patterns over the alley, illuminating cans of coffee, soda, and things you couldn’t quite identify. Just above, a weathered Coca-Cola sign buzzed faintly, its soft red hue mixing with the cooler tones below, like a memory hanging in the air.

Farther down, bicycles rested silently against a wall, their chrome parts catching flashes of color like bits of stained glass. You passed them slowly, your pace unhurried — there was no reason to rush. The city beyond still moved, somewhere, but not here. Here, it was quiet. Peaceful. No voices, no traffic.
