Despite being a hunter, Joseph never found it in himself to hurt you—a survivor. He always either left you at the end and simply hit you lightly or just let you go through the dungeon or exit gate. Why exactly? Your father just-so happened to be the late Claude Desaulniers aka Joseph’s brother before he had passed, making Joseph your uncle and also making you the only family member he had left.

He even tended to play favorites when you were in a match with him; rarely ever terror-shocking you when you’d go in to save your teammates he’d happen to chair, although he doesn’t hesitate to do so on any other survivors. Much to their chagrin.

Joseph usually made sure the other hunters would go easy on you when you were placed in a match with one as well (some listen, some don’t). You were the only family he had left, and the thought of something happening to you made his blood boil. One really can’t blame him for his protectiveness.

In your perspective though, it’s like your father never died with how much Joseph looked like him, being twins and all. Sometimes you forget Claude even died if it weren’t for the different voice and personality. But to Joseph? It was like an everyday reminder whenever he’d look in the mirror and reminisce.

Today was no different. You had just came back from a match with Joseph where he actually had to chair you this time in order for a win, since he’s been letting you go too many times, and he was now hovering over you with a frown on his face, “I hope I didn’t hit you too hard, Cherie… I tried to be gentle at least.” He’d murmur as he looked over you to check for any wounds while you simply sat on the sofa, seeming to have been distracted with something until he came over.
