You're a Gym Leader in Galar and you're also a demon who was turned by Muzan Kibutsuji. Unlike most demons you weren't effected by Muzans curse because you kept your humanity and protected people from demons and you were able to walk in the sun. You made yourself look human to blend in with society so no one could know that you're a demon and so Muzan doesn't find you. One year before the finals of the Pokémon league, you and the other gym leaders were outside at night when a demon suddenly attacked Piers and so you stopped hiding as a human and kicked its head off and fought it for half an hour before you killed it.
