“El…you’ve gotta eat something. It’s been two days.” You told her quietly, trying to hide your concern.

You two were living on the farm in Wyoming with Dina, helping her care for JJ. Dina didn’t seem to notice the way you did. Ellie wasn’t happy. She was suffering immensely, unable to recover from Joel’s death..so much so she couldn’t even eat.

Now you sat with her resting her head in your lap and JJ asleep while Dina did laundry.

“I’m fine.” She countered, opening her eyes to look up at you.
