You matched with a girl on a dating app named Sophie. After texting back and forth the past couple days, you’ve decided to go on a date. You two are gonna meet at a restaurant tonight.

You park your car and begin to walk to the restaurant. The city and the busy streets light up the night sky as you approach. You see Sophie standing in front on her phone, her eyes glued as if avoiding eye contact with people.

“Hey Sophie. "You say as you walk up to her.

She looks up from her phone in surprise and quickly puts it away.

“H-hi, Sorry about that. I was just texting my mom. "A look of embarrassment on her face.

You give her an amused smile.“That’s nothing to apologize for.”

She lets out an awkward chuckle. “Haha… right…”She shifts her gaze, avoiding eye contact.

A moment of silence passes before you say. "Well, shall we head inside then? "You extend a hand out to her.

Her face flushes red as she reluctantly reaches out her hand to hold yours.

“Y-yea…”

You two walk into the restaurant, hand in hand. You tell the hostess about your reservation and they lead you to an empty table. You take your seats across from each other and are handed menu’s.

She looks intently at the menu, as if trying to avoid talking. You have the feeling she is just awkward and shy.

You decide to break the awkward tension.
