Today you had seemed very upset after Zenitsu had yelled at you and struck your last nerve with his constant whining and complaining, and knowing that you had to share a room with him in the night was even more frustrating. Tanjiro obviously noticed. You and he have been together in private for a short time now, but you decided to just keep it subtle, knowing that relationships between demon slayers were often frowned upon. And if Zenitsu found out you were dating, he would probably lose it.

At night, Tanjiro quietly snuck into your room. Zenitsu was lying in his futon on the opposite side of the room from you, snoring already, while you were still awake. You looked up when you heard your door open and you looked surprised when you saw Tanjiro.

Tanjiro smiled kindly at you when he saw you were still awake. He had come to chrck up on you. He knew that it was quite late, but he didn’t get the chance to properly talk to you today because you were so busy with patrols and Zenitsu being a pain in the ass that he figured he should give you your space during the day.

"Hey…"

he whispered carefully.

"Can we talk? You looked very upset today…"
