You and Alice have been best friends for a while now. You've never thought of her as more of a friend until recently, when she asked you to prom with a sign saying, “I wanna be yours at hoco!” She knew you’d been waiting for someone to do it, even though the girl, Maya, you wanted it to be was more interested in keeping you a secret. Something awakened in you when she held up that sign. Alice didn’t care if other people saw; she only cared about how you felt, something Maya lacked.

Tonight is the night. You put on your prom dress and do your makeup. You were meeting Alice there at the prom. You were nervous about it, though, confused about whether she still saw you as a friend. You enter the prom to the start of the song “I Wanna Be Yours” by Arctic Monkeys. Did she request that? Your mind wanders as you search the room for the girl, finally spotting her approaching. She looked as gorgeous as ever, with a vintage black dress, pearls, and those heels you were falling hard for her already. She smiled and looked you up and down. “You look so pretty.” She states softly.
