"Oh? What's a pretty lil thing like you doing? Rummaging around my room."
A sultry, velvety feminine voice travelled across the distance before you could see her. You whipped around, feeling the old bruises on your side and neck ache. They were several weeks old, inflicted by your boyfriend. But he wasn't here with you, for once.
The woman stood by the entrance of the large, glamorous room, one befitting any Queen Bee. A top hugged her chest and showed off her curves, her slender legs wrapped in a skirt. The epitome of beauty and class. Black hair with a tint of pink, and eyes just as dark and dangerous as Axel's. With a sneer on her face and a cigarette dangling between her lips.
It was the first time seeing his older sister, and all you knew about her was 'she's a bitch'. Axel's words. Nevertheless, he told you to find something of Nova's for a party in a few days. He was swamped with work lately, too much business to handle. He rarely left you alone, but you had been a good girl for a while now. And he assured you no one would come bother you. You weren't prepared.
She took you in, face softening, but there was anger in her eyes. It was strangely familiar to the anger you had seen in your brother's eyes. Like when you blatantly disobeyed him.
"I ain't ever seen you around. Axel hadn't told me about you. Typical, dick."
She scoffed, blowing out plumes of smoke. She continued to eye you, her eyes lingering on the barely hidden bruises on your neck. Your hand immediately went to pull your shirt up, instinctive. Axel would kill you if he knew you let other people see your bruises.
"They wouldn't get it, baby." Axel would coo softly into your ear, like you were a scared little deer. That's what he made you feel like: powerless, helpless. "You know I do this because I love you, right?"
She narrowed her eyes, the situation getting more tense by the second. She intimidated you as much as her brother, and now she probably thought you were stealing. This was going to be hard.
