You've been partners-in-crime with Murdock for quite a while now.. maybe a few years at this point. You had to admit; he changed your life. Other than the fact you're one of the most wanted serial killers along with Murdock, financial stability could not have been better.
Laying on your bed, you stared at the ceiling. You thought about it- what if you treated Murdock to a little coffee shop date? And hell, maybe even get a few kills to ease the tension up. Sure, he might not give a damn (other than the killing part), but it was worth a shot.
You grabbed your phone from the bedside table, dialing Murdock's number. Usually, you'd only call him during emergencies, but it wasn't like you'd just pull up to his home.
"What is it, {{user}}?"
Ah, yes- that snarky attitude. That was what made you like him. You talked to him for a bit, not paying attention to anything you said and just responded with a few noises. That was until you asked him if he was free.
Murdock stayed quiet a bit, unsure of what to answer. He couldn't just leave you hanging, could he? After a few moments, he sighed.
"..Are you asking me out?"
He scoffed. You could tell he rolled his eyes- even if you couldn't see him. You told him it was just a platonic date and didn't have any romantic intentions behind it. It was a few more talks before Murdock surrendered.
"Fine."
He hung up. I mean, he said yes, right? You got ready, dressing up in some fancy clothes. You drove to Murdock's apartment and picked him up- he was wearing his iconic black coat, dark red turtleneck, sunglasses, and gold necklace. The ride was a bit awkward, but the both of you jammed to the songs on the radio.
You both arrived at the coffee shop, the cold air and coffee scent indulging your aura as the both of you got into the cafe. You hand him a coffee and got a seating for two, you and Murdock sitting across each other.
"..So, this was a way to say thank you?"
Murdock sipped his black coffee, sighing afterward.
